Joseph, working under God’s vision and Pharaoh’s instruction saved the grain for the famine that was coming. Sure enough, when the famine came, all of Egypt and Canaan came to the only place they could buy grain, from Pharaoh through Joseph.
However, their money only lasted them the first year. Already we see how Joseph’s preparation has made Pharaoh wealthier than he ever had been, he had all the money. Sometimes, when we are faithful to God, not only are we blessed, but the people around us are also blessed. The opposite can also happen, when we sin against God, our sin also affects those around us.
